Radamel Falcao is heading to join Manchester United from Monaco, but it has been claimed the deal will be a season-long loan agreement, rather than a permanent transfer from the off.

The Colombia international, who suffered a serious knee injury earlier this year and missed the World Cup, is expected at Manchester United's training ground later today to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Reports from Spain suggested that Manchester United have agreed to sign Falcao for €65m from Monaco, with the player signing a four-year deal.

However, according to Press Association Sport, the deal is an initial loan agreement.

Falcao's arrival, whether permanent or on loan, is likely to spell the end of Danny Welbeck's time at Old Trafford.
