Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel has joined AC Milan on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old arrived in Milan last night to complete the move to the Italian giants.

The midfielder suffered a cruciate ligament injury last year which kept him out of action at Chelsea and he only returned to the bench towards the end of the campaign.

Jose Mourinho decided to send the Dutchman to Milan on a season-long loan deal as the 21-year-old is not expected to receive many opportunities at the Blues this season.

Van Ginkel is delighted at the prospect of playing for the Italian giants and is looking to follow in the footsteps of other Dutchmen who graced the San Siro for the Rossoneri.
