Morgan Amalfitano is in talks with Marseille to terminate his contract, which would then allow him to sign for West Ham.

Amalfitano is surplus to requirements at the Stade Velodrome, with Marseille keen to move his salary off their wage bill.

And Amalfitano, who is keen to play his football in England this season, is now in talks with the Ligue 1 giants to tear up his contract, according to French radio station RMC.

The midfielder is thought to be in advanced talks with West Ham and could quickly link up with the Hammers if Marseille agree to release him.

The former Lorient man spent last term on loan at West Brom and enjoyed his experience of playing in the Premier League.
