Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Paraguayan striker Brian Montenegro.

The 21-year-old lands at Elland Road on a season-long loan deal from Nacional, and the deal includes an option for Leeds to keep him permanently if he impresses.

Montenegro is not a stranger to English football, having had a loan spell with West Ham in the 2011/12 campaign.

However, he did not do enough to convince the Hammers to sign him on a permanent basis.

Leeds announced: "We can confirm the season-long loan signing of Brian Montenegro, subject to international clearance."
