Bundesliga club Hamburg have officially confirmed the arrival of midfielder Lewis Holtby from Tottenham Hotspur.

Holtby, who joined Spurs from Schalke in January 2013, has penned a one-year loan contract at Hamburg.

The Germany international's arrival has delighted Hamburg, with the club's sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer commenting: "Lewis is a suitably strong technical player who will be good for our game and add creativity.

"He has already collected experience despite being only 23 years old, both in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, and internationally he has a lot of experience he will bring to us."

Holtby spent the latter half of last term on loan at Fulham, but could not help the club avoid relegation from the Premier League.
