Manchester United have now officially confirmed the signing of defender-cum-midfielder Daley Blind from Ajax.

The Dutch giants confirmed the deal was complete earlier this evening and now Manchester United have quickly followed suit.

The Red Devils said in a statement: "Manchester United is delighted to announce that Daley Blind has completed his transfer for a fee of £14m."

Blind impressed at the World Cup with the Netherlands earlier this summer, helping the Oranje to a third place finish.

The Dutchman is now expected to slot into Louis van Gaal's preferred 3-5-2 formation at Old Trafford.

Ajax are thought to have slapped a sell-on clause into the sale agreement, meaning they will be due a portion of any future fee if Manchester United cash in on Blind.
