Manchester United are paying Monaco €10m to take Radamel Falcao on loan to Old Trafford for the season, after the striker made a specific request to leave the Stade Louis II.

The Red Devils have won the race for the Colombia international, who is jetting into Manchester later today to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to the switch.

There has been confusion over whether the move is a loan or permanent move, but it now appears the striker will join on loan, at least initially.

According to L'Equipe, Manchester United will pay Monaco a fee of €10m to take Falcao on loan.

The agreement will have a purchase option included, if Falcao impresses at Old Trafford, allowing Manchester United to keep the Colombia international.
