La Liga giants Valencia are close to sealing a loan deal for Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo.

The Spaniard, who joined the Citizens last summer from Sevilla, still has three years left on his contract.

However, with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko in the squad, the English champions are keen to offload the striker, despite him scoring 23 goals last season.

Valencia are looking to sign a top forward and have made late approach for the Spanish international striker.

Los Che are keen to land the 29-year-old on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City, according to the BBC.

Valencia have included a mandatory purchase option as part of the deal, which is attractive for Manchester City. They will pay £23.7m at the end of this season to buy the striker.

Before leaving for England last summer, Negredo scored 85 goals in 180 appearances for Sevilla. He has also scored 10 goals in 21 appearances for Spain.
