Stuttgart's second string, Stuttgart II, have completed the signing of Stephen Sama from Liverpool.

The 21-year-old heads to Germany on a free transfer and has penned a two-year contract in Swabia, much to Stuttgart's delight.

Sama linked up with Liverpool five years ago and before then turned out in the youth ranks at both Bochum and Borussia Dortmund.

"We are pleased to have a young defender, so that we now have another alternative for the position of central defender", Stuttgart sporting director for the club's Under-17 to Under-23 teams Rainer Adrion said via the club's site.

Sama will be hoping to clock up regular first team football back in Germany and speed his development into the senior Stuttgart ranks.
