New Fulham signing Matt Smith is relishing the chance to rekindle his striking partnership with Ross McCormack, having followed the Scot from Leeds to Craven Cottage.

Smith sealed a move to Fulham from Leeds last night, after the Cottagers thrashed out a £500,000 fee with the Whites for his services.

The powerful striker had only just signed a new contract with Leeds, but was allowed to leave nevertheless. And he is looking forward to linking up with McCormack, who joined Fulham from Leeds earlier this summer.

"Obviously Ross is a player I know very well", he told Fulham's site.

"We formed a good partnership with one another last season and hopefully we’ll see that again at Craven Cottage. It’s a partnership I hope will come to fruition again.

"We’ve both come in and it’s up to us to prove our worth.

"There are a lot of good players in the squad, and I’m looking forward to working with them all. I scored a decent amount of goals last season, and hopefully I can continue that here at Fulham."

Smith and McCormack will return to Elland Road for a Championship fixture on 13th December, when Fulham meet Leeds.
