New Leeds United recruit Casper Sloth has expressed his delight at playing in the English Championship.

The 22-year-old Danish international was snapped up by the Whites along 14 other signings in the summer transfer window, after spending the majority of his youth and entire senior career with Danish side AGF Aarhus.

"In Denmark you see a lot of Premier League football, not so much in the Championship. But every footballer wants to play in England, it is a massive footballing country”, Sloth told LUTV, adding that he has settled well into life at Elland Road so far.

“When I heard that Leeds were interested in me I spoke to people here and thought that it would be a good fit."

“The players here are nice guys and they have taken good care of me so it hasn’t been a problem”, he added.

The midfielder made his debut on Saturday against Bolton, which resulted in Leeds' second league win this season.

The club, who are currently managerless after David Hockaday's sacking last Thursday, sit 18th in the Championship table following three league defeats last month.

Sloth will be keen to make his mark at the struggling club and avoid a similar fate to AGF last season when his former side were related from the Superliga to the Danish second tier.
