Belgium striker Divock Origi acknowledges there is more pressure on his shoulders since the World Cup and insists he will try to live up to expectations with the national team.

Origi was a surprise selection in Marc Wilmots' Belgium squad and impressed in Brazil, following that up with a swift transfer to Premier League giants Liverpool.

He has been loaned back to former club Lille for the season, postponing the time at which he will be expected to make an impact with Liverpool, but the expectations have not gone away for Belgium.

"It is true that my status has changed since the World Cup and I'm trying to adapt", he told Sporza.

"I feel that people expect more from me, that's normal. I expect more from myself.

"I have to work twice as hard and perform even better.

"I don't really feel any pressure, I just try to play my own game", he added.

The 19-year-old has won eight caps for Belgium to date, scoring once.
