Although, confirming their interest in Adrien Rabiot, Roma manager Rudi Garcia has rubbished speculation that the club have an agreement in place with Paris Saint-Germain over the player.

The Frenchman’s future at PSG was a source of constant speculation this summer and the likes of Arsenal and Juventus showed a keen interest in the midfielder.

Rumours were rife on transfer deadline day that the French Under-21 midfielder was on the verge of joining the Giallorossi, while his mother held talks with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

However, no transfer took place and PSG kept the player, who only has one year left on his contract.

Rabiot has refused to sign a new deal and is looking for a way out of the club due to a lack of first team opportunities.

There were reports that Roma have a secret agreement in place with the French champions regarding a move for Rabiot.

However, Garcia has squashed all such speculation; he also confirmed that the Italians are interested in signing the midfielder.

"We have no secret agreement with PSG regarding Rabiot”, Garcia told Canal +.

“The reports in the media are simply rumours.

“It's true that we are interested in him, but he is not our player.”

Rabiot will be free to sign a pre-contract with any club in January and leave PSG for nothing next summer.
