Dutch star midfielder Wesley Sneijder has ruled out a return to the Netherlands in the near future.

The 30-year-old is a product of the famous Ajax youth system and made more 179 appearances for the club before joining Real Madrid in 2007.




Sneijder, who is currently playing at Galatasaray, confirmed that Ajax didn’t approach him this summer.

“I was not contacted by Ajax this summer”, the Dutchman told Voetbal International.
 


The former Inter star said that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him, but at the moment he is not contemplating a move back to his homeland.

“I don’t know what will happen in the distant future and I will keep my options open.

“But for now, I cannot see myself returning to the Netherlands.”

Sneijder has scored 27 goals in 107 appearances for the Netherlands and is one of the senior figures in Guus Hiddink’s national set-up.
