Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele has explained that his side will try to continue their recent good form against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light tomorrow.

Spurs defeated the Black Cats 2-1 at the same venue in December before thrashing Gus Poyet’s side 5-1 at White Hart Lane in April.

And Dembele, who is coy on how Sunderland will fare this time around, is however hopeful of side bagging the full three points at the weekend.

“It can go both ways against Sunderland”, he told the club’s official site.

“Maybe they know we’re a good team and they’re warned but still, for us, we have to believe that last year we had two good games against them and that this year is not going to be different.

“We need to continue to try to do well against them.”

Tottenham’s last Premier League outing before the international break resulted in a 3-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool.

As a result, Dembele, whose side are currently sixth in the Premier League standings with six points from three fixtures, wants the north London outfit to return to winning ways against Sunderland.

“Our last game against Liverpool was very disappointing of course and we have to learn from that defeat”, he added.

“We must continue to be sharp because there are other teams that have been doing well, but if we think about the games before Liverpool where we were very good we can get back to that and continue to improve.”
