Leeds United interim boss Neil Redfearn has insisted it is the players' responsibility to ensure a good result in tomorrow's Championship clash at Birmingham City.

Leeds have won just two of their opening five Championship games, a run which saw David Hockaday sacked as manager and his assistant Junior Lewis depart.

Redfearn stepped in to take the reins on a temporary basis and led the Whites to victory in his first game in charge before the international break.

But Redfearn insists there is only so much influence he can have on the game and the ultimate responsibility lies with the players themselves.

"The responsibility lies with the players", Redfearn said via his club's site.

"They are the ones that cross that white line and turn out and perform.

"We set them up, organise them and give them a game plan but on the day it is down to them to go and apply themselves.

"This is a great game for them to go and pay in", he added.

Following their visit to Birmingham, Leeds then travel to face Bournemouth on Tuesday before welcoming Huddersfield to Elland Road.
