Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has bemoaned his side's inability to kill off Sunderland at the Stadium of Light today and insisted they must be more aggressive.

Pochettino's men were quickly off the mark against the Black Cats, Nacer Chadli putting the visitors ahead with just two minutes on the clock.

However, Adam Johnson produced a fine solo goal to draw Gus Poyet's men level only two minutes later.

Christian Eriksen handed the advantage back to Tottenham just after half-time, but a Harry Kane own goal eight minutes from time ensured both sides would earn a point apiece.

For Pochettino it was a disappointment, with the Argentine tactician taking his side to task for not being aggressive enough.

"I am very disappointed. When you create a lot of chances it is difficult to accept the draw. We need to improve. We need to be more aggressive and more focused", he told the BBC.

"It's difficult to accept. You need to have luck and it's true Sunderland had luck. I think there's a gap in the stats but you need to kill the game. We did not do that and this happens in football.

"We need to show collectively more calm, more security. We need to win games like this."

Spurs are next in action against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday in the Europa League.
