Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has saluted his side's 2-1 win at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid last night, but insisted he is not getting carried away with the result.

Tiago gave the visitors the lead in just the tenth minute before Cristiano Ronaldo pulled Real Madrid level from the penalty spot in the 26th minute.

But Arda Turan helped Los Rojiblancos to a famous victory when he found the back of the net with just 15 minutes left and Atletico Madrid then held firm against the side which beat them in the Champions League final in May.

"Arda coming on helped the way we played and [Antoine] Griezmann gave us some extra pace up front. I'm very happy with the work rate that the lads showed", Simeone said via Marca.

"The result doesn't change our approach. We're playing in our own league.

"We started well in the first half, but I wasn't happy with the team after that. We lacked precision in our passing between the lines", he added.

And Simeone was keen to stress that having lost a number of key players in the summer, Atletico Madrid are a team in transition.

"It's important for our fans and the team that we're rebuilding", he added.
