Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm feels that they need to work hard to beat ‘an absolute top team’ such as Manchester City.

The German champions will welcome their English counterparts for a Champions League Group E fixture on Wednesday.




They were in the same group last season too and both the won their respective away fixtures.

Lahm expects a stern test against the Citizens and feels that they are one of the top teams in Europe.

“Manchester City are an absolute top team”, the full-back told the club’s official site.

Germany’s World Cup winning captain believes that the Bavarians need to up their ante to get a result against Manchester City.

However, he feels that Bayern Munich will start as the favourites on their home turf.

“We’ll need to find another gear on Wednesday”, Lahm said.

“But obviously, when FC Bayern play at home, we expect to win.”

Arjen Robben is doubtful for the fixture as he is suffering from a knee problem and missed training on Sunday.
