Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink insists he is not being put off the Leeds United job by Massimo Cellino's reputation as a trigger happy owner.

Cellino, who only took over at Leeds earlier this year, has already worked his way through two managers (Brian McDermott and David Hockaday) and is now searching for a third permanent boss for the Whites in 2014.

The Italian went through 36 managers during his time as owner of Serie A side Cagliari and looks set to continue his trigger happy nature at Elland Road.

Hasselbaink, who played for Leeds as a striker between 1997 and 1999, has already thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant post at the club and insists he is not put off by the thought Cellino could quickly sack him.

"I haven't lost my interest because of Mr Cellino's past", the Dutchman was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

"It is just whether you can handle the job or not.

"And I am confident that I can", he added.

Hasselbaink also believes there is a surefire way to keep Cellino's finger off the sacking trigger – and that is to be successful.

"If you are successful, you do not get fired", the former Royal Antwerp boss explained.

"It's that simple.

"From what I've read, Mr Cellino wants to succeed and he does everything to achieve that."

Hasselbaink, who won 23 caps for the Netherlands between 1998 and 2002, had a spell in charge of Belgian second tier side Royal Antwerp last term, guiding the club to a seventh place finish.
