Jermaine Jenas believes that his old club QPR were beaten before they kicked off against Manchester United yesterday.

The midfielder, who parted company with QPR earlier this summer, has slammed Harry Redknapp's side for their performance at Old Trafford, which saw Manchester United run out comfortable 4-0 winners, being 3-0 up by half-time.

Jenas, who was at Old Trafford to take in the game for the BBC, feels Redknapp's men had no other plan than to defend, something which clearly became pointless by the 45 minute mark.

And he has not spared the rod in his criticism of his former team-mates.

"You can't come to Old Trafford with that attitude. They were defeated before the game started", Jenas told the BBC.

"They came here with a plan to sit in and that's what they did for 90 minutes."

Jenas is sure that QPR were playing Manchester United at a good time, which makes their collapse all the more woeful.

"It was a perfect time to come to Old Trafford and play them. They had to put so many pieces together, they've brought in so many new players, are under so much pressure.

"And they [QPR] just didn't really come and show anything. It's just not good enough", the midfielder added.

Jenas counts Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, along with QPR, as his former clubs.
