Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has blasted QPR for their performance against Manchester United yesterday.

Harry Redknapp's men were taken apart by the hosts in the first half, being 3-0 down by half-time and then eventually losing 4-0 to hand Manchester United their first win of the season.

Lawrenson thought QPR were never involved in the game and believes they had no plan for what to do when Manchester United scored.

The former Liverpool defender is now convinced that the R's will have to win the lion's share of their home matches if they are to have any chance of staying in the Premier League this term.

"I think you're being kind to QPR to say their performance wasn't great. Their performance was abject at best", he told the BBC.

"They had a plan A which lasted until [Angel] di Maria scored the goal and there basically wasn't a plan B. They sat so deep.

"There are so many problems when you look at Queens Park Rangers. They're going to have to win the majority of their home games to stay in this league", Lawrenson concluded.

Redknapp's men are next in action at home against Stoke City and will be aiming to quickly bounce back from their drubbing at Old Trafford.

QPR have so far collected three points from their opening four games, but have the league's worst goal difference with minus eight.
