Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that defender Martin Skrtel has resumed training post his knee injury, but won't be available for his team's Champions League encounter tomorrow.

The 29-year-old was injured during his team's 3-1 loss against Manchester City and hasn't featured for the Reds since.

However, the 41-year-old manager revealed that Skrtel resumed training on Sunday and has been making good progress towards recovering.

But Rodgers was also quick to confirm that the player won't be available for their Champions League Group B clash against Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday and is more likely to return against West Ham next week.

"Martin has worked very hard. He joined the group yesterday, so he is working well", Rodgers said at a pre-match press conference.

"It's probably too early for this game but after a good week's training he should be ready for the West Ham.

"Apart from that, we're pretty much the same in terms of injuries."

Since joining the Reds in 2007 Skrtel has played a total of 247 matches, scoring 16 goals.
