Ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes the Bhoys can realistically aim to win the Europa League this season.

Ronny Deila's men have dropped into the Europa League after being knocked out in Champions League qualifying; they now start their Europa League group campaign later this week away at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

Former Celtic man Sutton believes his old club have a genuine shot at winning the Europa League this season and should go all out to make it happen.

"The Europa League has a totally new dimension now with the fact that the winners go straight into the Champions League. Why can't it be Celtic?" Sutton told BT Sport in an exclusive interview.

"The season has started and things haven't gone to plan in European competition but Celtic can put that right now."

And Sutton is impressed with Celtic's summer additions, pointing to quick wingers Mubarak Wakaso and Aleksandar Tonev as dangerous weapons for Deila to unleash.

"They have more options up front now and have pace to counter-attack with Tonev and Mubarak.

"Things change quickly in football. There is a bit of doom and gloom about the Champions League now but that's gone now. Celtic could win the treble and could go on a good run in the Europa League and go on and win it", he added.
