Javier Pastore has vowed to win the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentine joined the French champions from Palermo in 2011 for a transfer fee of €39.8m and still has two years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes.

Pastore has made 136 appearances for the Parisians, scoring 28 goals and providing 26 assists and is one of the crucial members of the squad.

PSG were knocked out of the quarter-finals by Chelsea last season on away goals after the two-legged tie ended in a 3-3 draw.

The French champions are desperate to do well in Europe’s elite club competition to justify their huge spending in the last few seasons.

Pastore wants to play a crucial role in PSG winning the Champions League and said that he wants to stay at the club as long as the goal is not achieved.

"At the time of my signing with PSG I said to president [Nasser] Al-Khelaifi that I would stay at this club for as long as necessary to win the Champions League", the Argentine was quoted as saying by L’Equipe.

PSG are in Group F along with Barcelona, Ajax and APOEL.
