Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chelsea are in talks with Eden Hazard over a new contract, which will reward the forward for the progress he has made at Stamford Bridge over the last two years.

It emerged yesterday that Chelsea are all set to offer a new five-year deal to the Belgian, which will make him the best paid player at the club.

Hazard joined the Blues in the summer of 2012 from Lille for €40m and helped the club to a Europa League triumph in his first season.

Mourinho confirmed that Chelsea are in negotiations with Hazard over a new contract and said that he is keen to secure the Belgian’s future at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese believes a deal will soon be agreed as both the club and the player are keen to continue their association.
