Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho has urged his side not to underestimate Ludogorets Razgrad, as the Reds prepare to begin their Champions League campaign against the Bulgarian champions tonight.

The Merseyside giants, who returned to the Champions League after a gap of five years, are in Group B of the competition along with Ludogorets, FC Basel and Real Madrid.

On paper, Ludogorets are the weakest team in the group, but Sakho warned Liverpool not to take the Champions League debutants lightly at Anfield.

The French international, who wants his side to concentrate twice as hard as normal, also underlined the importance of approaching the game in the “right manner”.

“I'll focus twice as hard as normal because you mustn't underestimate a team", the centre-back when explained to his club’s official site.

"You must approach the match in the right manner and be twice as concentrated – the smallest error could be fatal and a slip up could occur.

"We must play to our strengths and not take our foot off the peddle, as the match could be dangerous."

Sakho, who has a further three years left on his current deal with Liverpool, has  experience of playing in the Champions League with his previous employers Paris Saint-Germain.
