Celtic starlet Callum McGregor believes that the club's new striking additions, Stefan Scepovic and John Guidetti, provide manager Ronny Deila with different options in attack.

The Scottish champions snapped up Scepovic from Spanish side Sporting Gijon, while Guidetti arrived at the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The Bhoys also bolstered their options elsewhere, especially on the flanks, where wingers Mubarak Wakaso, Aleksandar Tonev and Jo Inge Berget arrived.

McGregor, who operates as midfielder, has cemented a spot in Deila's thinking this season after a series of fine performances, further building on the progress he made on loan at Notts County last term.

And the 21-year-old is pleased with the arrival of Guidetti and Scepovic, as he feels they mean Celtic now have different options when it comes to hurting the opposition.

"Competition is important so you don’t rest on previous performances or previous seasons", McGregor told Celtic View.

"It’s vital at a club like this. It’s important that you push yourself every day and that will come naturally now with the new boys coming in.

"They will be looking for places but the boys that have the jerseys will be looking to keep them, so there will be healthy competition for places.

"I think the strikers are two different types from what we have here so it gives us a different option and a different dimension and I’m looking forward to them coming in."
