Sebastian Kehl has admitted that he is doubtful for Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga fixture against Mainz on Saturday after he injured his groin in his side’s 2-0 Champions League win over Arsenal last night.

The 34-year-old put in a great performance in the opening 45 minutes at Signal Iduna Park, but had to be substituted at half-time due to his groin problems.

“I had groin problems and it made no sense to continue”, he told his club’s official site.

“I don’t know if I will be fit in time for Saturday.”

Kehl, who hailed his side’s “perfect game” against the Gunners, feels BVB were deserved winners of the contest.

“This was a great team performance”, he added.

“It was a deserved win as we had them constantly under pressure and prevented them from getting a foothold in the game. We had a perfect game.”

Dortmund, who are currently an injury-ravaged side, are presently atop Group D of the Champions League after the group’s other game between Anderlecht and Galatasaray finished in a 1-1 draw last night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are however fourth in the Bundesliga with six points from three games, just one behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
