Leeds United's managerial search has led to Austria and the coach of Sturm Graz.

The Whites, who were led to a 3-1 Championship win away at Bournemouth by caretaker manager Neil Redfearn last night, are looking high and low for a new boss following their sacking of David Hockaday.

Several names have been linked with the job, including former Leeds strikers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Robbie Fowler, former Catania coach Rolando Maran and Iran boss Carlos Queiroz.

However, Leeds have now made a move for Darko Milanic.

The 46-year-old Slovenian, a qualified marine engine technician, is currently in charge at Austrian side Sturm Graz, who he joined from NK Maribor last year.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Leeds have made contact with Milanic to ask if he would like to be considered for the vacant manager's post.

Milanic led Sturm Graz to fifth spot in the Austrian Bundesliga last term, while he guided Maribor to four Slovenian titles during his time in charge.

He currently has Sturm Graz sitting fifth in the table, with eight points from eight games.
