Leeds United defender Jason Pearce has revealed that caretaker boss Neil Redfearn laid into the players at half-time in their 3-1 win away at Bournemouth last night.

The Whites lost 4-1 at Dean Court last season and Pearce admits they were fearful of suffering a similar fate when Bournemouth took the lead in the first half.

Redfearn claimed post-match he had drummed into his players that they are a talented bunch. But now Pearce has revealed he did not spare the rod either.

"First half I did fear the worst when they scored, but the lads showed great determination to stick in there", the defender told LUTV.

"Second half, Redders gave us a bit of a telling off at half time, we showed good character to come back into it and eventually win the game", Pearce added.

Redfearn has been in charge of Leeds for three games since being handed the reins on a temporary basis following the sacking of David Hockaday.

The former midfielder has presided over wins against Bolton and Bournemouth, and a draw with Birmingham.

Next up for the Whites is a clash against Huddersfield Town.
