Diafra Sakho wants to pay back West Ham’s trust in his abilities by scoring freely for the club this season.

The Senegalese striker joined the Hammers from French outfit FC Metz this summer on a four-year contract.

He has already scored a goal for the club in the League Cup, but is yet to open his account in the Premier League, with his deflected strike against Hull City on Monday going down as an own goal to Curtis Davies.

Sakho revealed that the club and their staff have done their best to help him settle in a new country and league and he remains grateful towards West Ham.

He said that he feels happy at the club and wants to repay West Ham’s faith on the pitch by scoring bags of goals for them during the course of the season.

"Since I've been at the club, the staff and players have helped me to settle”, the Senegalese told the club’s official site.

“And the best way to pay back the confidence the club have put in me is on the pitch. I feel good and when you feel good it makes it easier on the pitch.

“I'm going to do my best to score as many goals as I can to help us achieve our aims. I hope this is the start of a good and long story at West Ham United."

Sakho has already scored an international goal for Senegal and has made two league appearances for West Ham.
