Phil Jagielka believes Everton have found momentum post the international break, ahead of his side’s Europa League opener against Wolfsburg tonight.

The Toffees, who drew 2-2 against both Leicester City and Arsenal in their first two games of the season after failing to protect their lead, succumbed to a 6-3 loss at the hands of Chelsea just before the international break.

However, after the break, Everton have looked a transformed side as they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 in an away fixture at the weekend.

And Jagielka, who feels his side have been on a role since the international break, was pleased with the Merseyside club’s overall performance against the Baggies.

"It's all about momentum. At the start of the season we didn't particularly play too badly but we didn't manage to find any momentum", he told the BBC.

"We conceded far too many goals and didn't see out games. Since we came back from the international break it's all about us getting that ball rolling, getting clean sheets, getting goals, getting wins."

Everton, who are in Group E of the Europa League, will play their first European game in five seasons at Goodison Park tonight.

Apart from Wolfsburg, the Premier League side will compete with Lille and FC Krasnodar in the competitive looking group.
