Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update on his squad ahead of their Premier League clash against Aston Villa this weekend.

The Gunners went down to a 2-0 defeat in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund earlier this week and will bid to bounce back against Paul Lambert's men.

Wenger has already confirmed right-back Mathieu Debuchy is out through injury and could well miss three months; the French defender is undergoing an investigation of his ankle tonight.

And the Gunners boss has also provided an update on the other members of his squad who have been dogged by injury doubts.

Wenger said of Nacho Monreal via his club's site: "He will miss the game on Saturday. It's his back and it's always difficult to predict [the length of absence with those injuries], we don't really know. I don't think it will be long-term."

And Yaya Sanogo is out of the mix to face Villa too, with Wenger saying: "He has a small hamstring problem and is not in the squad."

However, good news comes in the shape of Calum Chambers and Mathieu Flamini.

"We have Chambers back because he had tonsillitis and wasn’t available. And everybody who started the game will be available again. Flamini’s back as well because he wasn’t on the team sheet. He’s back and available."

The Gunners will also be able to call upon Jack Wilshere, despite Wenger having doubts over his ankle post the Dortmund loss.

"He's available too. I was wrong, it was his left ankle and it was only a click that made him turn his ankle a bit, so he’s alright."
