Southampton custodian Artur Boruc has joined Championship side Bournemouth on an emergency loan deal until January 2015.

The Polish goalkeeper has found himself out of favour at Southampton after the arrival of Fraser Forster from Celtic this summer.

He has failed to manage a single appearance for the Saints this season under new manager Ronald Koeman.

But now, as part of the temporary deal between the two clubs, Boruc will have to chance to clock up playing time, while also providing competition for the club's other goalkeepers.

"He was Southampton's first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League last season, he kept a number of clean sheets and performed very well", Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was quoted as saying by the club's official site.

"He is good on crosses, a very good shot-stopper and comfortable with his feet.

I think we are getting a very good goalkeeper and someone who has been there at the very highest level.

"I have every confidence he will prove to be a good signing for us."

Having joined Southampton from Fiorentina in 2012, Boruc has managed a total of 49 league appearances for the Saints, keeping five clean sheets.
