Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has urged his side to defeat Chelsea in their upcoming Premier League contest at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The English champions, who began their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 loss against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, are also struggling in the domestic league.

The Citizens are already five points behind leaders Chelsea, following the club’s 1-0 loss and 2-2 draw against Stoke City and Arsenal in their last two Premier League outings respectively.

And Fernandinho, who revealed that his side are now fully focused on the Chelsea game, underlined the importance of Manchester City bagging the full three points against Jose Mourinho’s men at the weekend.

"Now we are thinking about the Chelsea game,” the Brazilian told his club’s official site.
