Leeds United caretaker boss Neil Redfearn has delivered an injury update ahead of his side's derby clash against Huddersfield Town at Elland Road.

Redfearn's men beat Bournemouth 3-1 away on Tuesday evening, a game which did not feature young midfielder Alex Mowatt. And the starlet may miss out once again against Huddersfield.

"We have got to be mindful of what we do with Alex Mowatt", Redfearn told his club's site.

"The good news is that it is not as bad as we first feared. It will be days rather than weeks that he will be out.

"We’re not sure if he will make the Huddersfield game yet."

However, Redfearn does welcome defender Sam Byram back into the Leeds ranks, with the picture also positive concerning the players who turned out against the Cherries earlier this week.

"Also, Sam Byram has come back into the frame, he got a little knock on Tuesday but we think that he will be fine.

"The lads that played on Tuesday night had a lighter session on Thursday as they didn’t get back until four in the morning after the Bournemouth game. And the lads that didn’t make the trip worked hard on Thursday.

"So on Friday everyone will be at the same level and we’ll be ready for the weekend", Redfearn concluded.
