Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be available for selection once again for the Merseyside derby against Everton on 27th September.

Sturridge suffered a thigh injury while on England duty over the international break, being ruled out for three weeks.

And now Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Sturridge's recovery from injury, with the Everton clash at Anfield in the striker's sights.

"Daniel is doing well and is out on the field doing some work", Rodgers was quoted as saying by the club's site.

"He should hopefully be back training at some point next week and will have a chance for the derby", he added.
