Italy coach Antonio Conte has admitted he is keeping a close watch on the performances of Southampton striker Graziano Pelle.

Conte took over as Italy boss earlier this summer and Pelle's goalscoring feats are not unknown to the former Juventus manager, who has been aware of the striker since his spell at Feyenoord in the Netherlands.

Pelle moved to Southampton this summer and has started to find the back of the net in the tougher environment of the Premier League.

The striker has so far scored four goals for the Saints in six games, as Ronald Koeman's men have made a bright start to the campaign.

"After scoring 50 goals in 57 matches in the Netherlands, Pelle is now scoring in England", Conte told reporters.
