Sturm Graz sporting director Gerhard Goldbrich has dubbed the club's coach Darko Milanic a "gentleman" and stressed the Austrian outfit will not scupper a potential move to Leeds United for the Slovenian.

Milanic has received an offer from Leeds and is expected to accept the challenge of trying to guide the Yorkshire giants to promotion to the English Premier League.

The Slovenian tactician led Sturm Graz to a 1-0 Austrian Bundesliga win over SV Reid yesterday, a game which could be his last in charge.

And Goldbrich, while sorry to see him go, appreciates the opportunity is too good to turn down.

"Darko is a gentleman and we won't ruin this opportunity for him", Goldbrich was quoted as saying by SportNet.

"I am very sorry that he is about to leave", he continued.

"We are already looking for potential successors, but I'm not revealing the requirements. I won't say any names either."

Milanic was appointed Sturm Graz coach last year and has a contract with the Austrian club until the summer of 2016.
