Nigel de Jong admits he would rather AC Milan lose to Juventus than a smaller side.
The Rossoneri suffered their first defeat of the season last night when Juventus grabbed a 1-0 win at the San Siro courtesy of a Carlos Tevez goal.
De Jong however is not too disheartened and revealed if AC Milan are to suffer a defeat they would rather it be to a powerful team and by a slim margin than to one of Serie A's minnows.
"The disappointment is always there when you lose, especially against a club like Juventus", De Jong told FOX Sports.
"It's only the third game of the season. I'd rather lose against Juventus than against a smaller club.

"We need to pick ourselves up next week, we dare not lose against Empoli and Cesena."
The Rossoneri lock horns with Empoli next in Serie A on Tuesday, before then facing Cesena on Sunday.
