MK Dons boss Karl Robinson believes that the club's fans have a hero to be proud of in Dele Alli.

The attack-minded midfielder, who has been linked with Premier League side Liverpool, scored a hat-trick for MK Dons as they thrashed Crewe Alexandra 6-1 in League One action on Saturday.

Robinson admits Alli was wanted in the summer and he told him to remain at Stadium MK until Christmas. And the 18-year-old has continued to put himself in the shop window ahead of a potential move in the new year.

Alli scored against the Railwaymen in the 3rd, 48th and 84th minutes in an outstanding performance that left Robinson and the club's chairman drooling.

"The chairman said Dele Alli gave the best individual performance he's seen at the club", he told the BBC.

"He does all the talking with a football, I don't have to talk about him.

"The fans have got a local hero to be very proud of", Robinson added.
