Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has accused his team of having too many players who want to score, after they went down to a 5-3 defeat away at Leicester City today.

Following last weekend's 4-0 win over QPR at Old Trafford, Van Gaal's men had been expected to build on the result at the King Power Stadium and the early signs were promising.

First Robin van Persie opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before Angel di Maria doubled the visitors' advantage with a superb chip from the edge of the area just three minutes later.

Leicester quickly pulled one back, but an Ander Herrera goal in the 57th minute looked to have settled the game.

However, David Nugent pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute, before Leicester summer signing Esteban Cambiasso grabbed a goal in the 64th minute, making it 3-3.

Jamie Vardy scored in the 79th minute, followed by Leonardo Ulloa's second in the 83rd minute, from the penalty spot, making it 5-3.

To make matters worse for Manchester United, Jonny Evans went off injured and Tyler Blackett was sent off in the 83rd minute.

"I think the spectators have seen a fantastic spectacle today and we started well and scored fantastic goals. In second half, we scored another goal but you have to win the game and we didn't do that. We didn't keep ball possession in the right way", Van Gaal was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"We have too many players who want to seek for the goal. Leicester have already showed against Arsenal and Stoke that they can come back and they did it very well."

Van Gaal though is philosophical about the defeat, accepting such turnarounds can happen. He is still less than pleased however.

"I cannot say that I am happy. In the world of football, these matches happen. I was a coach at Barcelona in my first year and we were 3-0 ahead, with 15 minutes to play and we lost 3-4.

"It can happen, it is the world of football but it is not good because we have the game in our pocket and gave it away. Not because of Leicester, we gave it away and I don't like that."
