Leeds United caretaker manager Neil Redfearn has lavished praise on the club's Italian striker Mirco Antenucci.

The summer signing hit the back of the net in Leeds' 3-1 win away at Bournemouth last week, while he also found a route to goal on Saturday in the Whites' 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town at Elland Road.

And Antenucci has caught Redfearn's eye, with the caretaker boss in no doubt about his goalscoring ability.

"I think Antenucci has been outstanding in the last couple of games", Redfearn explained to LUTV.

"He has got energy and he runs in behind, he takes people on and he has a great touch", he continued.

"His first touch is always taking it away from people and he can finish.

"If you stick him in front of goal he can finish."

Antenucci scored 19 goals in 40 Serie B games for Ternana last season, impressing and coming to the attention of Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, who worked overtime on a deal to take him to Elland Road.
