Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar believes that current Ajax boss Frank de Boer shares much in common with Louis van Gaal.
Van der Sar, who is now marketing director at Ajax, has watched closely as De Boer has guided Ajax to the last four consecutive Eredivisie titles.
The goalkeeper also knows Van Gaal well, the Dutch tactician having taken over at Van der Sar's old club Manchester United earlier this summer.
And he believes that De Boer and Van Gaal share much in common as two elite level managers, though stressed only time will tell if the Ajax coach's career follows the same path as the former Netherlands' manager's.
"I think so, definitely", Van der Sar told De Tafel van Kees replied when asked if De Boer is similar to Van Gaal.

"You see a number of exercises being done that Louis also did.
"That of course can be evaluated fully during the course of time.
"But I see a lot of similarities between Frank and Louis, yes", the former goalkeeper concluded.
De Boer was part of the Ajax side that won the Champions League under Van Gaal in 1995, while he also worked with the Manchester United boss at Barcelona and the with Netherlands national team.
