Celtic manager Ronny Deila was not impressed by the lack of cohesion displayed by his side against Motherwell yesterday.

John Sutton gave the lead to the visitors at Celtic Park yesterday in the 19th minute, but the Scottish champions rallied to earn a point though a 68th minute penalty by Kris Commons.

The Celtic manager bemoaned the fact that his side gave a disjointed performance on their home turf and is not ready to accept the excuse that there were too many changes.

He stressed that his players need to adapt to changes as injuries and suspensions are bound to take place over the course of the season.

“When you change the team a lot, the players haven’t played together”, Deila told the club’s official site. “You need to know where your team-mate is to get tempo.

“The attitude was good. They worked hard and wanted the ball back so it’s more about relations and skills in the first half.

“Everyone has to improve in the squad. We will get injuries and people will be out for different reasons and that’s why we need to build them up.”

Celtic are fourth in the league table on 11 points and are five points adrift of league leaders Dundee United with a game in hand.

No team outside the Old Firm of Celtic and Rangers have won the Scottish league title since 1985.
