West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has said he and his fellow Hammers new boy Enner Valencia are working hard in training to develop their partnership.

Both the Senegalese and the Ecuadorian international joined the club this summer and have become instant fan favourites with their performances at Upton Park.

"We've trained together for a short while now”, Sakho told the club’s official site.

The 24-year-old forward believes that they complement each other well because they are different types of forwards and can add variety to the West Ham attack.

“Enner's a footballer who likes to get it down and play, and me, I like to come deep. I try to position myself in relation to him and vice versa. I hope that's going to continue to serve the club well this season.”

Sakho confirmed that both him and Valencia are working hard on the training ground to fine tune their partnership and believes they will understand each other better as the season progresses.

"We certainly hope [to improve] and we're working every day in training for that. We're not going to relax and we'll carry on working hard at it, because it's only the beginning of the season and there will be plenty of matches to play together."

With Manchester United’s recent defensive frailties, the West Ham attackers could well relish their trip to Old Trafford next weekend.
