Chelsea assistant manager Steve Holland has confirmed that midfielder Ramires won't be available for selection for the Blues' League Cup match against Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday.

The Brazilian suffered from an abductor muscle injury during the match against Manchester City on Sunday and had to be substituted during the second half.

"Ramires had a problem in his abductor muscle in the game which resulted in him being substituted in the second half", Holland told his club's official site.

"It is a minor injury but it will keep him out of the game against Bolton and we will review him in the days following that."

Holland also confirmed that the match could well be used as an opportunity to make some alterations to the squad, but refused to provide any further clarifications regarding the final team selection.

"We haven’t finalised the squad for tomorrow yet.

"We have looked at the players following the game against Manchester City and it is an opportunity to rotate, we will do that for sure, but in terms of who is playing and who isn’t, that is unclear."

Striker Diego Costa also remains a doubt for the Pensioners' third round tie at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
