Wesley Sneijder has all but ruled out a move to Manchester United, despite admitting he is happy to know Louis van Gaal is interested in him.

Van Gaal, with whom Sneijder worked with the Netherlands national team, is a firm fan of the Dutch playmaker and has been linked with wanting to take him to Old Trafford.

It is talk that Sneijder admits he has heard. But the former Inter midfielder believes the amount Galatasaray would demand for his services all but takes a potential move to Manchester United off the table, while he is also not pushing to leave Turkey.

"It's good to hear that Louis van Gaal is interested in me, he is an absolute expert", Sneijder told AMK Spor.

"But it's very hard to convince me to transfer.

"I feel very good at Galatasaray and Istanbul is excellent.

"Why are we talking about it? I play for Galatasaray and aim to become champions with this club.

"Also, Galatasaray will not let me go for a little amount of money.

"I think it is very difficult to get an agreement."

Sneijder is known to have a release clause in his contract at the Turk Telekom Arena however, and Galatasaray's president has admitted that if a club chose to activate it, the side would be helpless to prevent the Dutchman's departure.

"Wesley Sneijder has a release clause set at €20m", president Unal Aysal explained.

"Any team that give us that money and he wants to go…we can't keep him."
