Leeds United have officially confirmed the appointment of Slovenian tactician Darko Milanic as their new manager.

The Championship side have been looking for a new boss since choosing to part ways with David Hockaday last month, following a run of three defeats in their first four league games.

And Leeds have turned to 46-year-old Slovenian Milanic, tempting him from Austrian side Sturm Graz.

Leeds announced: "We can now confirm the appointment of Darko Milanic as head coach, after he signed a 2-year contract tonight. Darko will be joined at the club by Novica Nikcevic who was his assistant at Sterm Graz [sic]."

Milanic only took over as Sturm Graz coach last year, arriving at the club from NK Maribor.
